Repertoire Selection

A. Preliminary Auditions

(1) For the preliminary audition, the participant must select one aria from the list of required arias included hereafter and second Baroque aria by his or hers choice.
(2) Please write the arias selection on the application.

B. Semi-finals

(1) If advanced to the semi-finals, the participant must select an aria from the list of required arias included hereafter that it is different from the preliminary arias, and second aria or song of his or her choice in different language.
(2) Please write the arias and/or song selection on the application.

C. Finals

(1) If advanced to the finals, the participant must sing two arias in different languages. At least one aria has to be different from these presented at the preliminary and semi-finals.
(2) Please write the arias selection on the application.
(3) After the finals the jury shall announce all laureates of the competition.

Please note: The jury may decide to change the order of selected repertoire at any time; therefore all participants must have their repertoire ready from the beginning of the competition.

D. Gala concert with orchestra.

For the gala concert all laureates must prepare three arias from the required arias listed hereafter along with some of the appropriate for your voice duets, trios, quartets, etc.
Please write all selections on the application. Laureates’ gala concert with orchestra shall be on May 31, 2005 in the Plovdiv city Concert Hall. The Conductor of Opera &Philharmonic Society, Plovdiv shall select at his discretion the singing materials and make the program for the gala concert. Neither laureate shall sing the same material; therefore the selections of your singing material as describe above is crucial for the conductor’s final decision.
