The Inter-Atlantic Music Foundation (IAMF) is pleased to announce its newest multi stage project "Flames of Hope" where fundamental achievement is the composition of an original historical opera concerning the Holocaust.
The Holocaust was a human tragedy of immense proportion. It is the story of villains and victims, of blind indifference and remarkable heroism. During one of the darkest chapters in world history, a small and courageous nation, Bulgaria, took a stand against cruel dictator intent on extermination, and saved virtually all its Jews. "Flames of Hope" is dedicated to memorializing the awesome human tragedy of the Holocaust, and to the hope personified in individual and collective acts of heroism. It also seeks to deliver a salient message in the timelessness of music that such tragedies can never again be allowed to stain the pages of human history.
The "Flames of Hope" project will proceed in three distinct stages. The first stage will be the Composition of an original fully staged opera based on an original libretto. The second stage of the project involves the public production and world premiere of the winning composition. The third stage will consist of a national and international tour of the opera.
